- Prototypes ready in as little as 5 days, not weeks.
- No minimum order quantity.
- End-to-end DFM review, machining, finishing, CMM inspection, and global shipping.
- ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 certified, with full material traceability on every order.
Why Source CNC Machining Services from China?
China accounts for roughly 31% of global machine tool consumption, according to the Gardner Intelligence 2023 World Machine Tool Survey. That scale drives investment in advanced equipment and keeps unit costs competitive. For engineering teams sourcing precision parts, three factors make China’s CNC machining services worth considering:
- Lower overhead costs: Labor, facility, and energy costs in southern China’s manufacturing belt are substantially lower than in the US, EU, or Japan. Those savings go directly to your part price, especially on larger batches.
- Advanced equipment density: Top-tier Chinese CNC shops run 3- to 5-axis machining centers from DMG MORI, FANUC, and MAZAK. Tooling breadth and machine capacity often exceed those of smaller Western job shops.
- Established supply chains: Proximity to aluminum, stainless steel, titanium, and engineering plastic suppliers keeps material lead times short and raw-material costs predictable.
We can verify quality, which is the common concern. XTJ CNC holds ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 certifications and has supplied OEMs such as Magna, Shimadzu Medical, BEKO, and Electrolux. Those are supply chains with documented incoming quality requirements, and we meet them on every order.
Our China CNC Machining Services
XTJ CNC operates 120+ advanced CNC machines across multiple process families. Here’s what’s available and when each process fits your project:
CNC Milling (3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis): Rotating cutting tools remove material from a stationary workpiece. 3-axis handles flat and prismatic parts, such as brackets, housings, and plates. 5-axis accesses complex contours and undercuts in a single setup, holding positional tolerances of ±0.003 mm on critical features and surface finishes down to Ra 0.8 μm.
CNC Turning and Turn-Milling: Rotating stock against a fixed cutting tool produces cylindrical and conical features such as shafts, bushings, fittings, and threaded components. Turn-milling combines both operations in one setup, eliminating secondary fixturing and the positional error it introduces.
Sheet Metal Fabrication: Laser cutting, CNC bending, welding, and forming for aluminum, mild steel, and stainless steel. Laser cutting holds profile dimensions to ±0.1 mm; bend angles are held to ±0.5°. Typical applications include enclosures, brackets, chassis, and structural frames.
Rapid Prototyping (CNC, SLA, SLS, Vacuum Casting): CNC-machined prototypes ship in 5 to 7 days. Stereolithography (SLA) and Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) 3D printing serve concept models and functional test specimens. Vacuum casting produces 10 to 50 parts in polyurethane materials for validation before injection-mold tooling is cut.
Injection Molding and Die Casting: When volumes justify tooling, we produce injection molds for plastic parts and die-cast tooling for aluminum and zinc components. Our DFM team reviews wall thickness, draft angles, gate placement, and parting lines before any tooling steel is cut.
Surface Finishing: Anodizing (Type II and Type III hard anodize), electroplating (nickel, chrome, zinc), powder coating, painting, polishing, and deburring. Type III hard anodize adds a 25 μm oxide layer, bringing aluminum surface hardness to 60–70 HRC.
Which Materials Do We Machine?
Material selection affects your part’s cost, lead time, and performance. Here are the most common options and what to consider when choosing:
Aluminum 6061 and 7075: The most common CNC materials. 6061 machines quickly and resists corrosion well; 7075 offers higher tensile strength (503 MPa vs. 310 MPa) for structural aerospace and sports. Both anodize well.
Stainless Steel 303 and 316: 303 is the free-machining grade for standard corrosion-resistant applications; 316 adds molybdenum for marine and medical environments where chloride exposure is a concern.
Titanium Grade 2 and Grade 5 (Ti-6Al-4V): High strength-to-weight ratio and excellent biocompatibility make Grade 5 the standard for aerospace brackets and medical implants. Machining costs run 3 to 5× aluminum due to tool wear and slower feed rates.
Brass and Copper: Excellent machinability with high thermal and electrical conductivity. Common for fittings, connectors, and heat-sink components.
Engineering Plastics (POM, PTFE, PEEK, ABS, Nylon): We machine tight-tolerance plastic parts for medical, electronics, and food-processing applications. PEEK withstands continuous use at temperatures up to 480°F and resists most chemicals, making it a direct metal replacement in weight-sensitive assemblies.
For material property references, the ASM MatWeb database covers alloy specifications and mechanical data. Tolerance fits are governed by ISO 286-1, which is a useful reference when specifying hole and shaft fits on your drawings.
Quality Assurance in Our CNC Machining Process
Quality is a documented process for us. Our ISO 9001-certified quality management system covers every stage from raw material receipt through final shipment.
Incoming material verification: Every material lot is verified against its mill certificate before stock is loaded onto a machine. Alloy composition, hardness, and heat treatment are confirmed before cutting begins.
In-process checks: Our machinists perform first-article inspections on every new setup. Critical dimensions are re-checked at intervals specified in the process control plan. If a dimension drifts outside the control limit, production stops for correction before bad parts accumulate.
CMM final inspection: Finished parts are inspected with a coordinate measuring machine (CMM) to verify dimensions against your drawing. CMM reports ship with the parts, so your incoming quality team has objective evidence.
PPAP documentation: For automotive programs that require IATF 16949 compliance, we provide full Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) documentation upon request.
